Assistant Editorial Lead

We are seeking a dynamic and driven editorial leader to shape our Lifestyle vertical.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced journalist or editor to make a significant impact, driving content strategy and leading a team in a fast-paced, evolving digital landscape.

About the Role

As Assistant Editorial Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping AsiaOne's Lifestyle coverage, ensuring it is incisive, engaging and relevant.

  • Craft a bold content strategy that advances the Lifestyle vertical and aligns with overall objectives.
  • Oversee the curation of content from various sources, including content partners and original reporting, to create compelling and accessible narratives across multiple platforms.
  • Drive the creation of diverse content formats, including news reports, feature articles, photo essays and social videos.
  • Identify and report on trending news and stories, with a focus on delivering content that resonates with the audience and generates impactful conversations.
  • Guide and mentor a team of journalists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on newsroom experience, with a strong preference for candidates possessing proven editing expertise.

A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.

Exceptional news judgment and a keen understanding of digital media trends.

Demonstrated ability to generate unique, compelling and engaging content ideas.

Outstanding writing, editing and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced digital environment.

Strong social media acumen and a finger on the pulse of local and regional lifestyle content.

A collaborative spirit with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships.

Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Bonus Requirements

Experience in digital media, social media management and/or video journalism.

Proficiency in a second or third language.
