Regional Commercial Manager Job Description

The Regional Commercial Manager will be responsible for collaborating with Senior Operations Managers to assess service capacity at each depot and identify any underutilization.

  • Develop strategic sales initiatives tailored to each depot's capacity, profitability, market conditions, and core service advantages.
  • Assist in analyzing and strengthening the client portfolio.
  • Maintain ongoing engagement with clients to anticipate their evolving needs and propose value-driven solutions.
  • Research the market to identify growth opportunities and generate new leads.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Establish a reporting framework to monitor and evaluate sales activities and performance.
  • Set and achieve sales targets across various locations.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process using insights from customer trends, sales forecasts, and service demands.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements ensuring favorable outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and address disputes or issues as needed.
  • Keep abreast of industry changes, new technologies, and regulatory updates.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on market intelligence and business insights.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team through coaching and mentorship.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial roles within the tank container depot sector.
  • At least 5 years of proven leadership in sales or business development at a managerial level.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of building customer relationships and driving business growth.
  • Deep knowledge of the tank container and depot industry.
  • Effective leader with the ability to inspire and manage commercial teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
