Humanities Educator (Teaching and Learning)

The role of a Humanities Educator at our esteemed institution is multifaceted, requiring an individual with exceptional teaching and learning skills to deliver A Level Economics and Business Studies subjects to high school students, while also engaging with middle years students in IGCSE programs.

Job Description:Teaching, Learning and Assessment
  • To design and implement curricula that foster confidence, proficiency, and a love of learning among students, preparing them for success in Cambridge international exams.
  • Supporting students in developing critical and creative thinking skills through inquiry-based learning, observation, and experimentation.
  • Preparing comprehensive written reports for each student, including parent conference reports and references for further education when applicable.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of each student's progress and learning.
  • Conducting effective parent conferences, providing detailed assessments of student development and relevant examples of their learning activities.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to discuss individual students' needs and daily curriculum planning, ensuring cohesive and supportive learning environments.
  • Engaging with students using a positive, respectful, and open-minded attitude, tone, and language, upholding the school's codes of conduct.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of students on-site and during off-site activities, remaining vigilant at all times.
  • Supporting students' social and emotional growth, recognizing the importance of holistic education.
  • Encouraging parents to participate in classroom experiences, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility in education.
  • Setting a high standard of personal conduct and behavior as a role model for young people.
Other Duties
  • Attending and actively participating in staff meetings, team meetings, and other gatherings as required.
  • Maintaining regular attendance and punctuality, demonstrating commitment to one's responsibilities.
  • Communicating effectively with parents through positive, supportive, and professional interactions, both verbally and in writing.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, built on cooperation, respect, and open communication.
  • Contributing to the development of a strong sense of community among staff, encouraging constructive dialogue and suggestions for school improvement.
