Job Description

The role of a Data Engineer is pivotal in driving business growth through data-driven decision-making. This professional will be responsible for understanding requirements, designing solutions, and building modern data platforms to support informed decision-making.


Main Responsibilities
  • Execute technical implementation of data engineering and visualization projects
  • Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and Athena
  • Work with Amazon S3, Redshift, and Lake Formation to implement data lakes and warehouses
  • Monitor and optimize pipeline performance and cost efficiency

Data Warehousing & Modeling

The ideal candidate will have expertise in building and supporting star/snowflake schemas, fact and dimension tables in Redshift or SQL Server


Data Quality & Validation
  • Implement automated data quality checks using custom logic or tools such as Deequ or Great Expectations
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve data-related issues during development and testing phases

Collaboration & Support

This role requires the ability to work with data analysts, business users, and architects to translate requirements into technical specs


Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in dealing with data, preferably as a Data Engineer or related role
  • Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure
  • Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java
  • Expertise in SQL and data catalog and governance tools like Glue catalog
  • Familiarity with data validation frameworks and concepts like data warehouse, data lake, data mart, OLTP, and OLAP
