Job Description

The role of Chief Steward is a vital position within the resort, requiring a professional and dedicated individual to oversee the cleanliness and hygiene of all food and beverage operations.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the stewarding team to maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all food and beverage areas, including kitchens, dining rooms, and other areas.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures, policies, and cleaning schedules that ensure efficiency and compliance with regulatory safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor cleanliness standards, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with other departments to deliver top-notch service and cleanliness.
  • Implement environmental sustainability initiatives within the stewarding department to minimize waste and promote eco-friendly practices.
  • Cultivate a strong people culture by coaching and developing team members, taking ownership of people-management matters, including recruiting, upskilling, and mentoring.
Required Skills & Qualifications

To excel in this role, the incumbent should possess:

  • 4-6 years' experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a property of similar standing. Pre-opening experience and knowledge of sustainability initiatives are advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation and hygiene regulations, inclusive of knowledge on food safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team.
  • Able to handle matters independently and exercise self-motivation to complete projects.
