This is a high-level leadership role that involves strategic planning, organisational management and technical advisory committee facilitation. The Director will oversee the development of clinical guidance related to communicable diseases, working closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of clinical guidance development, ensuring alignment with international best practices and local healthcare priorities.
  • Convening and supporting technical advisory committees and expert workgroups.
  • Reviewing, developing and updating or renewing of clinical guidance related to communicable diseases.
  • Overseeing the development of an overarching strategy on therapeutics for infectious diseases.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills, proactive needs assessment, committee facilitation, strategic, administrative and finance planning and development.

The successful candidate will have strong organisational, project management and communication skills, as well as experience in drafting and developing clinical guidance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary education in medical, biological sciences, healthcare, public health or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based medicine, clinical guidance development methodologies and public health principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Familiarity with the operations, processes and systems of a healthcare organisation and the local healthcare policies, programmes and landscape.
