Job Title: Community Development Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Community Development Specialist, working on community interventions and outreach programs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work and experience in developing and implementing community-based initiatives. They will be responsible for initiating and participating in outreach efforts, managing referrals, and conducting case assessments and conceptualisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement outreach plans to publicise Division programmes and establish good relationships and contacts with stakeholders or community partners.
  • Manage referrals and engage referral agencies/persons for intake and assessment.
  • Conduct thorough case assessments using information gathered during intake and subsequent engagement with clients, family, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop intervention plans, provide counselling and support to address their risks and needs issues, and advocate for clients' rights and access to essential services within the community and relevant systems.
  • Document all case-related records.
  • Research and evaluation through keeping abreast of current research and trends, and participate in and support research projects.
  • Professional development and education by preparing for, attending, and presenting cases at Internal Case Reviews/Case Conceptualisation meetings/Clinical supervision on a regular basis, involving supervising interns and/or students on placement.
Requirements
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent with 2 years of experience in social service sector or similar setting.
  • Well-versed with MS Office programmes and experiences with social work interventions; interest in growing clinical skills.
