Biotechnology Facility Maintenance Specialist

Job Description:

As a Biotechnology Facility Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of production facilities and equipment in a clinical-stage biotechnology company.

Your primary goal is to ensure that all facilities and equipment are functioning properly and efficiently, with minimal downtime. To achieve this, you will perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibration, repair works, and replenishment of facility-related consumables.

You will also lead engineering feasibility studies and commissioning or remodeling projects, where applicable. Your expertise in cleanroom operations and pharmaceutical or medical device production environments will be invaluable in this role.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance and Upkeep
  • Cleanroom Operations
  • Facility Equipment Servicing
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Facility SOPs
  • Vendor Oversight

To succeed in this position, you will need:

Education: A bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering.

Experience: At least 2 years of experience maintaining GMP cleanrooms or 5 years of experience with similar controlled environment facilities.

Skillset:

  • Familiarity with PIC/S GMP requirements
  • Hands-on experience working with chilled water ACMV systems
  • Prior HSE experience
