The role of Deputy Director / Assistant Director in the Competition and Consumer Policy sector involves leading a team to assess and analyze IMDA's regulated markets.

This is part of IMDA's vision to empower the info-communications sector, drive the economy, bond communities, and power a Smart Nation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the team in undertaking robust analysis of policy and regulatory issues in telecom, media, and post/parcel sectors concerning competition and consumer matters.
  • Obtain perspectives from internal and external stakeholders to develop sound policy recommendations.
Implementation:
  • Ensure strong policy implementation of frameworks and regulations for competition and consumer policy matters.
  • Enforce these frameworks when necessary, including assessing potential breaches of the Telecommunications and Media Competition Code.
Stakeholder Management:
  • Manage and resolve cases by coordinating with stakeholders from various sectors.
Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with government agencies to facilitate infrastructure deployment and improve service quality.
Requirements:
  • Background in Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the telecommunications, media, postal sectors, or related fields, with supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
