Life Skills Development Specialist

Our organization provides a before and after school enrichment program for children with special needs. As a Life Skills Coach, you will play a crucial role in building functional life skills, social confidence, and independence in our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Create a safe and conducive learning environment to promote students' development and learning.
- Assist coaches in planning and designing classroom activities and preparing learning resources and materials.
- Support coaches in teaching/coaching students in your charge to carry out instructions of the activities during lessons.
- Build good relationships with students through care and encouragement.
- Help coaches with data collection through daily observation of each student and track progress/monitor each student's goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with the overall team to support students' well-being and development.
- Implement positive, robust classroom routines and practices to maintain classroom discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of working experience within a SPED school and/or worked with children with special needs, including but not limited to autism, intellectual disabilities, down syndrome etc.
- Having a specialist diploma/degree in a relevant or related field or valid teaching certification in Special Education is preferred.
- Some understanding of the special education laws and regulations.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Good patience, empathy, and desire to help students achieve their potential.
- Takes the initiative, can be independent, and positively influences the team.
- Resourceful, result-driven, problem-solver, flexible, and adaptable to the changing educational environment.
Our program is designed to meet the unique needs of neurodivergent children, aged 7-12. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters growth and development in all aspects.
