Underwriting Specialist Job Description

Are you an experienced underwriter looking to advance your career in the insurance sector? We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as an Underwriting Specialist.

This exciting opportunity involves executing underwriting activities and strategies at both local and regional levels, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing roll-out strategies for online portals, providing technical advice and support to business units, and contributing to ad-hoc projects and business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute end-to-end underwriting processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement effective roll-out strategies for online portals, enhancing operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Provide expert technical advice and support to business units, promoting seamless collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Utilize expertise in commercial property underwriting, loss prevention, and risk management to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Support and contribute to ad-hoc projects and business initiatives, fostering innovation and growth.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience in Property and Casualty (P&C).
  • Diploma in any discipline, preferably related to finance or insurance.
  • Insurance certification, such as ComGI and ACII, is a distinct advantage.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Service-oriented, with exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Competent in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
