Senior Site Reliability & GitOps Engineer
Overview:Canonical is seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability & GitOps Engineer to join our Information Systems (IS) team. This role offers the opportunity for an automation-first senior technologist with a passion for Linux to build a career with us and drive success in delivering high-quality services to our customers.
As a key member of the IS team, you will be responsible for developing automation practices, driving infrastructure as code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with the IS architect to align solutions with the IS architecture vision.
- Design and architect services that meet business requirements and align with company standards.
- Drive the development of GitOps practices within the team and ensure seamless integration with existing tools and processes.
- Work closely with globally distributed engineering, operations, and support peers to ensure alignment and effective communication.
To succeed in this role, you will require strong technical skills, including:
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems.
- Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing, and firewalls.
- Hands-on experience administering enterprise Linux servers.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
- Strong understanding of software development practices, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
Additionally, you will need excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed environment.
