Job Title: Infrastructure Monitoring Specialist

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Monitoring Specialist to join our team. This role involves the inspection and monitoring of railway infrastructure, including tracks, tunnels, and viaducts, to ensure safe use.

Increasingly, advanced technologies such as photo imaging systems, laser, and ultrasonic scan systems are being used in conjunction with traditional track visual inspection methods to determine the condition of the infrastructure. Our organization has implemented smart environmental control, pump monitoring, and lift control systems in our railway buildings and facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Understanding system inspection characteristics and interpreting inspection data to identify potential issues.
  2. Alerting and providing infrastructure maintainers with defect severity prioritization to enable timely intervention and preserve the safe and reliable operation of the train network.
  3. Working with our data analyst and engineer to integrate data streams from monitoring systems into our centralized data warehouse.
  4. Scouting for relevant and proven condition monitoring technologies that can enhance safety and/or reduce maintenance effort.

Key qualifications and skills include:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Prior work experience as a maintenance engineer is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Python, and Power BI.
  • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer and Data Scientist certifications are an advantage.
