Oral Health Research Leader
We are seeking an exceptional leader in oral microbiome and multi-omics research to spearhead a high-impact research agenda.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of scientific publications, competitive extramural grants, patents, and supervision of PhD/Masters students.
We are committed to shaping the future of oral healthcare through innovative prevention, diagnostic and therapeutic modalities.
Key Responsibilities:- Secure, establish and lead a competitive, externally funded research programme integrating oral microbiology with multi-omics approaches
- Pioneer insights into the associations between oral microbiome signatures and systemic health, develop novel prevention, diagnostics and treatment strategies
- Build upon platforms such as the Singapore Oral Multiomics Initiative (SOMI)
- Synergize and/or collaborate with existing clinical and research faculty to elevate the research profile and global impact
- Identify and pursue diverse funding opportunities to bolster research infrastructure and clinical studies
- Demonstrate exceptional scholarly achievements through peer-reviewed publications, competitive grants, patents and other scholarly outputs
- Supervise, mentor and nurture PhD and Master's students, dental residents/officers, research staff and clinical investigators
- Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards
- Ph.D. in microbiology or related fields
- Preferably with Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) or equivalent degrees
- Excellent academic track record in scientific publications, competitive extramural grants, patents, supervision of PhD/Masters students etc.
- Demonstrated ability to attract industry funding will be an advantage
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
