Researcher Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as a Research Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology at the National University of Singapore.

">

The successful candidate will lead the design, execution, and troubleshooting of experiments related to microbial short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and their role in mucosal healing in ulcerative colitis.

">

  • Design and execute experiments to investigate the mechanistic role of SCFA-producing microbes in mucosal repair.

    ">

  • Conduct advanced molecular biology, immunology, and microbiome analyses, including metagenomics, metabolomics, and immunophenotyping of colonic tissues.

    ">

  • Develop and optimize small animal models of colitis to study the effects of SCFAs on mucosal healing.

    ">

  • Analyze data using computational pipelines for microbiome and metabolite profiling, ensuring high scientific rigor and reproducibility.

    ">

  • Contribute to manuscript writing, conference presentations, and preparation of reports for funding agencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

">

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as pharmacology, molecular biology, or immunology, and demonstrated expertise in experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript writing.

  • Advanced knowledge of molecular biology, immunology, and microbiome analyses.

    ">

  • Experience with small animal models of colitis and microbiome analysis.

    ">

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    ">

  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with ability to prepare clear and concise reports and manuscripts.
