This is an independent position that requires the ability to work on weekends as well. Candidates should be able to forecast, manage inventory, and have skills in areas such as accounting, customer service, and scheduling.
- Cutting and shaping tiles using power and hand tools
- Forming tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar
- Aligning tiles using straightedges, levels and squares
- Installing, polishing and surfacing granite and marble
- Preparing surfaces for tiling with waterproofing material or lath
- Laying and setting mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms
- Tapping tiles into place using tools to adhere them to the base
- Following blueprints precisely and marking and measuring surfaces to determine how to approach jobs
