This is a full-time research position focused on pioneering work in hydrogen combustion and safety modeling.

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to contribute to cutting-edge combustion projects, aimed at advancing the science and technology of hydrogen combustion processes, developing safety models, and supporting the safe deployment of hydrogen technologies.

The successful candidate will engage in advanced research on hydrogen combustion dynamics, reaction mechanisms, and safety modeling. They will develop and validate computational models to predict hydrogen combustion behavior and associated safety risks.

Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential to integrate research findings into practical safety guidelines and industrial applications.

Publishing high-quality research papers in reputable journals and presenting findings at international conferences are expected outcomes.

Mentoring and supervising graduate students and research assistants are also key responsibilities.

This project focuses on the combustion fundamentals of hydrogen, ammonia, their blends, and their blends with hydrocarbon fuels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced research on hydrogen combustion dynamics, reaction mechanisms, and safety modeling.
  • Develop and validate computational models to predict hydrogen combustion behavior and associated safety risks.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate research findings into practical safety guidelines and industrial applications.

Requirements:

  1. PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on combustion, fluid dynamics, or safety modeling.
  2. Strong background in hydrogen combustion, numerical simulations (e.g., CFD), and safety analysis.
  3. Proficiency in relevant modelling tools and software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, PeleC, or equivalent).
  4. Demonstrated strong track record of publications in high-impact journals.
  5. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in hydrogen energy systems or renewable energy research.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and safety standards related to hydrogen technologies.
