Global Tax Director

Job Summary
INSEAD, a leading graduate business school, is seeking an experienced Global Tax Director to join its Finance Department. This is a permanent and full-time position that will be based at either the Europe Campus in France or the Asia Campus in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage global tax compliance in all relevant jurisdictions worldwide.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations across different jurisdictions, assessing their impact on the company and recommending appropriate actions, while managing exposure to tax risks and identifying opportunities to optimise INSEAD's tax position globally, including transfer pricing, tax planning and tax efficient structures.
- Provide strategic tax advice and guidance to senior management on potential business transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, IT, Procurement, and operations, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, tax authorities, and auditors. Collaborate with INSEAD's external tax and legal experts on tax planning strategies, and manage interactions with external accounting and law firms.
- Provide guidance to all departments, especially in terms of VAT/GST and WHT.
- Ensure compliance with local Transfer Pricing requirements and with INSEAD's global Transfer Pricing policy.
- Stay updated on emerging tax trends and best practices, and proactively identify opportunities for tax optimisation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law or a related field. A master's degree or CPA qualification is strongly preferred. A specialty in tax law will be a plus.
- Extensive experience in global tax planning and compliance, with a focus on multinational corporations.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- Deep knowledge of international tax and transfer pricing regulations, as well as a proven experience dealing with tax treaties.
- Proficient in French, European and international taxation rules (VAT/GST, withholding taxes, transfer pricing). Good understanding of French GAAP and IFRS.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing tax strategies that align with business goals and minimise tax liabilities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, and an ability to communicate with and convince C-level team members.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Experience working with tax software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
