Infrastructure and Automation Specialist

This role involves streamlining IT infrastructure operations, accelerating deployment lifecycles, and enabling platform scalability across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes, along with a passion for leveraging open-source tools to drive efficiency and reliability in IT services delivery.

The specialist will collaborate closely with Solutions Architects, project teams, post-support teams, and customer IT teams to deploy modern IT solutions on platforms and automation solutions. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, testing, and deploying playbooks using automation tools such as Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and Terraform.
  • Integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
  • Documenting developed playbooks, workflows, and automation processes.
  • Sharing reusable automation modules and best practices across teams.
  • Troubleshooting and supporting existing automation frameworks and scripts.
  • Engaging in maintenance and support activities, including performing troubleshooting, incident response, and patching in a timely manner.
  • Performing scripting and coding when required.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience), minimum 3 years of experience in automation, infrastructure, or DevOps roles within IT services, basic understanding of network architectures and configuration workflows, experience with containerization platform tools, and strong hands-on experience with Automation tools preferably on Ansible AAP, Terraform, and playbook development.

Preferred skills include experience with container lifecycle management and Kubernetes (on-prem or managed), familiarity with the containerization tools such as Red Hat OpenShift, proven experience in network automation infrastructure tasks with Cisco ACI, network switches, F5, and Checkpoint firewall, strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, YAML, and strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration and networking fundamentals.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills are also required. Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team setting are essential for success in this role.
