Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer Leader to join our team of experts. This role will work closely with the Technical Director - Global Microelectronics to implement business and group objectives. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, motivate and guide regional process engineers, support the development of new products and solutions, provide design guidance and technical trainings, and share experiences as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with process engineers and other multifunctional teams globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discussions with regional process engineers and other team members to drive mutual consensus on clear strategy and path forward for an optimum solution meeting customer needs.
  • Deliver technoeconomic modeling for selection of an optimum system.
  • Drive initial process reviews with regional process teams for alignment and lead discussions during final review with the Director - GPE team as SME.
  • Document process reviews with observations, clear action items, and path to solution.
  • Develop new or update existing process design guidelines and provide trainings.
  • Share experiences on important technical topics, pilot/plant operating data, new competitive technologies with recommendations from the GPE platform.
  • Play a key role in technical discussions as SME with the Technical Director Global Microelectronics and the Director - GPE on projects along with other SME to advise on technical issues under review.
  • Given the complex nature of the treatment flowsheets for the Microelectronics market segment, the ability to act as a system integrator and clearly identify the impacts that any given unit process will have on upstream/downstream unit processes is key.
  • Lead efforts on complex integrated projects to recommend creative strategies around performance tests and mitigation plans against business exposure.
  • Develop and maintain operating data bases from operating plants to make decisions based on experiences from operating plants mitigating business risks and exposure.
  • Evaluate system operation under both design and upset conditions, identify potential points of failure, participate in detailed hazard reviews (HAZOPs), and troubleshooting.
  • Deliver expert advice on treatability studies, optimized design options for new projects, and for new technologies available in the competitive landscape.
  • Lead pilot test plan discussions with extended teams and review/approve operating changes.
  • Analyze and review pilot data and approve technical results/recommendations on pilot reports.
  • Participate in technical meetings with customers supporting Commercial Engineering/Sales to ensure optimum technical solutions meeting customer needs.
  • Guide technical peer risk reviews through recommendations on design optimizations in value engineering efforts.
  • Deliver expert opinions/recommendations to project execution teams during commissioning, performance tests, data analysis, and participate in operator trainings.
  • Lead collaborative efforts among multifunctional groups, including Technology, Products, MicroE Incubation Team, CMS, and Commercial Engineering for technical alignment.
  • Support collaborative efforts among multifunctional groups, including Technology, Products, MicroE Incubation Team, to develop new products and solutions for the Microelectronics Market segment.
  • Present Veolia's products and solutions at international conferences for the Microelectronics market segment.

Requirements

  • Technical expertise, deep understanding of the competitive landscape for technology and products in the Microelectronics market segment.
  • Strong business acumen, able to understand customer needs to propose optimum solutions creating added value to the customer.
  • Expertise in 3rd Party/vendor competitive technologies, software for simulations, its limitations to assess performance pros/cons.
  • Ability to consider multiple unit operations and integrate them into a complete complex process flowsheet.

Education and Experience Required

  • Master's degree in Chemical, Process Engineering, or other equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years engineering experience in the water and wastewater reuse industry, out of which a minimum of 10 years' experience reflects dedicated expertise, with in-depth chemistry knowledge, understanding in designing operations, and troubleshooting of complex integrated flowsheet solutions, of which 5 years' experience reflects dedicated expertise in ultrapure water, wastewater, and recycling water treatment for the Microelectronics Industry.
  • Familiarity with projection software/tools for process design, such as WinFlows, WAVE, GasCAD (Liqui-Cel GTM), EDI, TOC-UV removal, along with strong Excel and/or Google Sheets proficiency.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Preferred

  • PhD degree, ability to work scientifically on innovative products, concepts, and solutions.
