Job Overview

The Biomedical Technical Officer is a critical role within our organization, supporting the Assistant Biomedical Engineering Manager.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily operations in the hospital and provide guidance to duty technicians on bio-medical equipment matters.
  • Compile biomedical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Stay updated with the latest knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, technical publications, and maintaining personal networks.
  • Evaluate proposed biomedical equipment by conducting tests and evaluations to ensure its safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of use.
  • Monitor quality assurance and risk management matters, including maintenance of high standards and acceptance testing.
  • Offer specialist resources for investigation of difficult technical problems.
  • Provide coaching and technical decision guidance to staff on communications skill, issues resolutions, and customer services.

Requirements:

  • A higher national certificate in an engineering discipline or above.
  • At least two years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of hospital safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance for medical devices.

Candidates must possess strong communication skills, be proactive, and have a keen eye for detail. They should also be able to work independently and as part of a team.
