Job Title: Youth Care Professional

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Youth Care Professional. In this role, you will have the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young persons.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized care and support to residents, focusing on their physical and psychological needs
  • Maintain a safe and healthy living environment, adhering to established policies and procedures
  • Ensure residents attend school regularly, promoting education and personal growth
  • Adopt a trauma-informed approach, fostering a nurturing environment that rewards good behavior
  • Address the needs of residents proactively, providing emotional support and guidance when required
  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned by the Reporting Officer, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations

Promoting Social & Emotional Development:

  • Create and implement daily activities designed to promote bonding and social development among residents
  • Develop strong relationships with residents using creative methods, providing emotional support and encouragement
  • Recognize and reward positive behaviors, addressing unacceptable behavior promptly and constructively

Resident Management:

  • Collaborate with the Social Worker to ensure resident safety, health, and positive behavior
  • Monitor residents to ensure they adhere to Home rules and structure, reporting any concerns to Management
  • Update leave/visit procedures through the Home Management System, maintaining accurate records

Smooth Running of the Home:

  • Implement safe gate management procedures, ensuring resident security and well-being
  • Report any damages to property, taking proactive steps to maintain a safe and secure environment
  • Comply with all relevant SOPs, working collaboratively with the team to achieve common goals

Requirements:

  • Diploma in any discipline, preferably related to child development or youth work
  • At least one year of relevant experience, with a strong track record of delivering excellent care and support
  • Experience working with children and youth groups an advantage, demonstrating ability to engage and inspire young people
  • Able to interact positively with children and youths, showcasing empathy, patience, and calmness in stressful situations
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and external partners
  • Team player with initiative and independence, willing to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities
