Job Overview

The SAP Basis Lead/Manager is responsible for overseeing the SAP environment, ensuring optimal performance and availability across multiple SAP instances, including SAP ECC, SAP BW, Solution Manager, and S4 Hana.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain various SAP systems to ensure seamless operations.
  • Design and implement effective SAP configurations to enhance system performance.
  • Manage SAP user accounts, authorizations, and profiles efficiently.
  • Distribute and monitor SAP user workloads and background job operations.
  • Oversee OS scripts and manage data transfer interfaces.
  • Administer the SAP printing subsystem across all instances.
  • Plan and execute SAP tuning strategies to maintain optimal performance.
  • Monitor SAP systems, including work processes, user activities, and system logs.
  • Collaborate with Database Administrators for SAP database management, including reorganization and system copies.
  • Conduct SAP HANA administration tasks, including patching and system planning.
  • Handle SAP client administration as necessary.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of SAP system upgrades.
  • Apply structured methodologies for SAP maintenance across all systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces.
  • Provide regular status updates on Basis projects and operational activities to management.
  • Deliver project status reports to stakeholders and create necessary documentation.
  • Serve as the primary contact for technical issues and troubleshooting.
  • Act as L3 support for critical incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Develop and manage forecasts and budgets for Basis infrastructure.
  • Act as a solution consultant to propose innovative solutions within the SAP landscape.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in a multinational or global services environment, or in a SAP consultancy role focused on Basis and Authorizations.
  • Proven experience leading a team of 5 or more in project and operational activities.
  • Strong expertise in SAP Basis (SAP BC) and management of authorizations.
  • Extensive experience in Basis rollouts, particularly with S4HANA and ECC.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer skills.
  • Familiarity with Solution Manager functionalities such as job monitoring and technical monitoring.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24/7 support model as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrated initiative and adaptability for continuous improvement.
