Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Design Specialist to lead our team's structural assessment and strengthening efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough analyses of ship structures, identifying areas for improvement, and developing comprehensive plans for cargo lashing and securing.

  • Conduct hull structure strength assessments and propose effective methods to strengthen the structure.
  • Create detailed plans for project cargo, including load spreading and securing.
  • Provide engineering support to business teams and charterer teams during bidding and ship evaluation processes.
  • Maintain accurate work databases and optimize operational costs.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel as a Marine Design Specialist, you will need:

  • A diploma in Marine Engineering or Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent.
  • No less than 5 years of experience as a Structure/Basic Design Engineer in a shipyard or marine engineering company.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD systems, such as Autocad.
  • Proficiency in using Femap & Nastran structure analysis software or similar software.
  • Experience in cargo lashing design, DNV's Lashcon or similar software, and lifting and rigging design.
  • Good knowledge of ship stability, weight control, ship loading, marine structure, and welding design.
  • The ability to work independently, cooperatively, and proactively.
