Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our Consumer Banking Group Technology team at DBS Bank. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our production systems, identifying and implementing improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and drive recovery calls for major incidents, coordinating with multiple teams to drive resolution.
- Communicate major incidents to stakeholders and provide regular updates.
- Identify and implement preventive and detective measures for applications.
- Automate manual activities and processes for production teams.
- Identify persistent or recurring problems and recommend creative solutions.
- Build and manage high-performing teams.
- Collaborate with global teams, ensuring proper handoff of incidents and details.
- Escalate and facilitate incidents to enable efficient and timely service restorations.
- Drive root cause analysis with technology partners, post-incident resolution, and facilitate RCA reviews.
- Manage the identification and development of monitoring and improvements to improve production system reliability.
- Implement Site Reliability Engineering practices in CORE Banking.
- Automate processes and remove toils.
- Build automation and observability tools to detect, troubleshoot, and recover systems faster and improve production system reliability and resiliency.
- Build predictive tools and solutions using machine learning capabilities, leveraging available logs and instrumentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of experience, with at least 7+ years of production management experience, preferably in the banking industry.
- Managed open systems and multi-country production environments.
- Good command over production infrastructure, performance monitoring, and reporting tools.
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering principles, including performance, reliability, monitoring, and alerting in production environments.
- Over 7+ years of experience in incident management, change management, and problem management.
- Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux/Shell/Python scripting.
- Familiarity with applications Xcelerate/TBMS systems, Quadient or equivalent statement generation engines, Jboss, MariaDB, EDB Postgres, Java in Linux operating systems, Kafka.
- Experience supporting critical applications using API-driven cloud-native technologies (e.g., AWS, PCF, OpenShift, or Kubernetes).
- Good knowledge of Java and Spring Boot, Python, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Grafana/Kibana, Appdynamics, and production automation.
- Good working experience with machine learning algorithms, including regression, classification, decision trees, random forests, bagging, and boosting techniques.
- Good communication skills, positive work attitude, and self-motivation to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good experience in running automation and improvements.
