The primary function of this position is to oversee and manage projects related to fire protection systems in marine vessels. This includes coordinating with clients, naval architects, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the successful execution of projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project management principles, as well as expertise in fire protection systems for marine vessels. They will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing project requirements and design specifications, providing technical expertise and support in the selection and procurement of fire protection equipment and systems, preparing project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans, and monitoring project progress to ensure adherence to timelines and deliverables.
This role also involves conducting site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements and safety regulations, as well as coordinating with contractors and subcontractors for installation, commissioning, and testing of fire protection systems. Additionally, they will be responsible for preparing project documentation and reports.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience in project engineering, preferably in fire protection systems for marine vessels, is highly desirable. You should also have knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to fire protection systems, as well as strong project management and organizational skills.
