Teach English Literature with Passion

As an experienced teacher of English Literature, you will be responsible for developing students' inquiry-based learning skills and delivering engaging lessons to students aged 11-19.

  • Design and deliver curriculum that balances specific skills of 'how to learn' with the IB vision and subject area aims.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enrich curriculum and student learning.
  • Differentiate and target learning to meet the needs and aptitude levels of students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Implement school policies and expectations as established by your employer.
  • Participate in professional development activities outside of regular working hours as needed.
  • Supervise students during breaks and unstructured times.
  • Lead or coach an after-school co-curricular activity (CCA).
  • Assist with internal substitute coverage according to departmental needs.
  • Contribute to school continuous improvement through committee or work group membership.
  • Perform homeroom teacher duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English Literature or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in teaching or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills are essential.
  • IB training is highly valued but not essential.

  • Strong communication and written English skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging lessons.
  • Multitasking and organization skills.
  • Experience in teaching English as a Second Language.
