Job Overview


As a Strategic Sourcing Manager at OSI Systems, Inc, you will play a key role in providing materials and components for company product manufacturing. Your primary responsibility will be to communicate product specifications to suppliers and assess their ability to meet engineering and quality requirements.



Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Engineering and management to assess business needs and contribute to the development of procurement and as per company strategies.
  • Populate and maintain database and apply cost analytical tools, techniques and systems to analyze and interpret a wide range of supplier and organizational information and options to support procurement planning and decision making.
  • Apply risks management and compliance checks when researching and analyzing supply markets and contract performance to identify potential risk and trigger risk mitigation and management responses.
  • Implement plans to ensure orders meet specified quality and delivery times and to minimize the total cost of purchases.
  • Document performance to action plans and timelines for assigned sourcing projects.
  • Handle requests for information, quotations, proposals, and bidding processes.
  • Evaluate current and potential suppliers in coordination with Supplier Quality Teams.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Drive the parts and process qualification in coordination with Supplier Quality Teams.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with all levels of supplier personnel and internal customers.
  • Identify opportunities and implement actions to achieve efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the fields of engineering, or manufacturing.
  • Working experiences above 5 years in related fields.
  • Good negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills are required to lean on networks to get the best price.
  • Global sourcing experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting with involvement with lean practices; (Kaizen, Values Stream Mapping, 5S. Experience in a pull system (kanban) approach to material/component flow.
  • In depth knowledge of supplier qualification processes and supplier performance metrics.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisions. Includes a strong working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and scheduling software.
  • Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence up, down, and across organizational lines.
