Job Summary:

The Technical Superintendent is a key member of the Vy Systems team, responsible for ensuring the technical operations of assigned oil tankers meet the required standards and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective technical operations strategies to optimize vessel performance.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of vessels, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Manage the preparation and implementation of class, statutory, and other vessel surveys.
  • Coordinate dry-dockings and other required repairs and maintenance jobs, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  • Monitor and review crew performance, providing guidance and support to improve overall vessel efficiency.
  • Develop and manage the technical budget for vessels, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with the Vessel Manager and Technical Manager to ensure seamless communication and coordination.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer on oil tankers, or equivalent experience as a technical superintendent.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, management, and communication skills.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
