Job Title:
Semiconductor Equipment Design Engineer

Design Overview:
As a Semiconductor Equipment Design Engineer, you will design and develop high-precision semiconductor equipment that meets the processing and automation needs of customers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Understand design specifications given by the design lead
• Comprehend company design standards and best practices
• Familiarize yourself with constraints within which your design must operate
• Understand geometric tolerances and dimensional analyses
• Choose components based on an understanding of function, reliability, and costs
• Select materials based on an understanding of materials science and engineering
• Design for manufacturability/assembly
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineers to choose drives and electrical components (if any)
• Discuss interlocking logic requirements with Software Engineers
• Create 3D CAD designs
• Perform DFMEA during the design process
• Submit CAD modules to system integrators for interface checks
• Review designs with design leads
• Develop detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and layout drawings
• Select standard components available off the shelf

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• BE/BS in Mechanical Engineering
• 0-3 years experience in designing and developing automated equipment
• Proficiency in 3D solid modeling software (Creo, Solidworks, NX)
• Experience with electro-mechanical module conceptualization and design
• Pneumatic/fluid circuit design expertise
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material selection
• Familiarity with FMEA, DOE, and other analysis tools

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ultra-high precision machine design experience
• High-speed pick and place mechanism design skills
• Structural, kinematics, and dynamic analyses and FEA simulations expertise
• Geometrical tolerancing and dimensional analyses knowledge
• Engineering material selection and manufacturing process selection abilities
