The Broadcast Engineer role involves the core technical facilities of a broadcasting station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving various feeds through Fiber as well as Satellite and providing live event sources to transmission.
  • A strong understanding of audio-visual (AV) technology, including video formats, multi-language audio tracks, equipment setup, and troubleshooting for audio and visual systems.
  • Uploading ingest schedules into the ingest scheduler and ensuring all live feeds are routed properly to the ingest application.
  • Testing audio and video quality of given links during live telecast and monitoring server, storage, network switch, power supply, and other equipment.
  • Undertaking quality control and transcoding of all incoming streams or package transfers to Media Servers.
  • Updating the station router as per the event schedule and identifying and resolving issues with immediate preventative action to restore traffic.
  • Coodinating feed venue for error-free transmission (feed management).
  • Conducting routine checks and maintenance of MCR equipment, including FMS servers, routers, buzzers, and monitoring tools.
  • Documenting shift reports, technical incidents, and resolutions for future reference.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of conducting live events and managing multiple tasks.
  • Fluent English speaker and able to communicate effectively in writing.
  • Able to report technical issues through clear diagrams.
  • Ability to translate user requirements into technical requirements and technical specifications.
  • Ability to work in a team and must be deadline-driven.
  • Able to deal with frequent changes and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to analyze problems determine root causes and provide solutions.
  • Ability to perform in rotation shift.
