The Coastal Modeller role is a dynamic position that involves leading and supporting coastal and climate-risk related projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coastal modelling and be able to offer expert consultancy, engineering, and design input.

Key responsibilities include developing, calibrating, and validating coastal hydrodynamics models using various software packages. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing and managing consultancy projects related to coastal projects and real-time control applications.

The Coastal Modeller will also support in preparing technical reports and presentations, as well as documenting consultancy projects and model development. Strong communication skills are essential for this role, with regular interaction required with project managers and team leads.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Civil engineering, Water Resources Management, or Master's degree in Numerical Modelling
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of coastal hydrodynamics and marine/coastal processes
  • Experience working with marine/coastal processes and related software packages
  • Able to communicate and present ideas clearly

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in inland modelling, such as catchment modelling
  • Familiarity with the Deltares and DHI software suites
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB)
  • Management of consultancy projects
  • QGIS, or other geospatial software experience
