Job Title: Process Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • To conduct water sampling for process units and send samples to the laboratory for analysis, following up on recommendations in real-time.
  • Operate and maintain critical equipment including boilers, evaporators, cooling towers, and reverse osmosis systems in the wastewater treatment plant.
  • Monitor and adjust process parameters using SCADA systems, ensuring optimal plant performance.
  • Update test results in data management systems.
  • Supervise general plant operations and provide guidance to junior personnel on chemical handling and daily tasks.
  • Maintain all process units, pumps, and equipment in good working condition.
  • Participate in the company's emergency response team.
  • Support shift operations as needed.

Wastewater Slop Operations:

  • Manage incoming waste and communicate with quality control departments.
  • Oversee ISO tank and vacuum truck operations.
  • Monitor terminal processes, including loading and unloading.
  • Manage jetty operations, including vessel berthing and marine loading.
  • Conduct oily water pre-treatment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and replenish process oils.
  • Manage tank-to-tank transfers and oil recovery processes.
  • Supervise dayshift operators.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices at the slop plant.
  • Submit daily task reports to the slop superintendent and supervisor.
  • Undertake other duties assigned by the slop supervisor/superintendent as required.
  • Support safety procedures and emergency response measures.

Requirements:

  • NITEC/ITE/Diploma in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in relevant roles.
  • Basic English communication skills (reading & writing).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Additional desirable characteristics include being a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications in Forklift, WAH/AWSHPP, or Boiler Attendant (Class 1/2) are advantageous.
