Job Description

  • Assess the English language proficiency of prospective students and work closely with teachers to develop individual education plans if required.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement effective strategies for supporting students with learning needs.
  • Develop, deliver, monitor, and assess the English as an Additional Language (EAL) program in collaboration with senior leaders.
  • Conduct interviews and assessments to identify student needs and provide guidance on educational support.
  • Implement teaching methods that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
  • Participate in curriculum development and implementation to ensure alignment with EAL goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs of EAL students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of inclusivity and respect.
  • Provide support to students who require additional help outside of regular class hours.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in EAL teaching and learning.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress.
  • Support the school community through extracurricular activities and events.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Education or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, preferably in an EAL setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitivity towards cultural diversity and ability to adapt to different learning environments.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
