Backend Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our Paid Ads team. As a key member of our e-commerce advertising platform, you will design and develop high-performance, scalable, and available Ads systems to enhance Shopee's infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop backend systems supporting Search, Recommendation, and Display ads.
  • Design and build high-performance, scalable, and available Ads systems.
  • Improve platform efficiency and stability to support rapid business growth.
  • Handle end-to-end project delivery, refactor and optimize advertising modules such as targeting, recall, and ranking for business development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Go, C/C++, or Java.
  • Experience with Linux-based development and tools like Redis, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Etcd.
  • Critical thinking skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Motivated, self-driven, and capable of delivering projects on time.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Knowledge in ads, search, recommendation, algorithms, backend, large-scale systems, or data pipelines is advantageous.
