Job Title: Port Operations Safety Specialist
Job Description:The Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and subcontractors on site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, with experience in conducting regular site inspections and identifying potential hazards.
- Workplace Safety & Health Compliance
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with WSH regulations.
- Identify potential hazards and unsafe practices, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to company safety policies, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
- Incident Management
- Respond promptly to incidents, accidents, and near misses at the worksite, including night or emergency situations.
- Assist in conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and preparation of incident/accident reports.
- Liaise with PSA Safety personnel on incident reporting and resolution of safety-related matters.
- Safety Coordination
- Coordinate safety programs, campaigns, and toolbox meetings to raise safety awareness among employees and subcontractors.
- Work closely with project teams, supervisors, and subcontractors to implement effective safety measures.
- Act as the point of contact with PSA and relevant authorities on safety compliance matters.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate safety inspection records, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Submit timely safety reports to superiors and senior management for review and follow-up actions.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with WSH Act, relevant codes of practice,and PSA safety guidelines.
- Keep updated on changes to WSH regulations and communicate requirements to the team.
- Additional Duties
- Perform night inspections as and when required.
- Attend emergency drills and safety audits conducted by PSA or regulatory bodies.
- Assist in the development of safety procedures and risk assessments for port operations.
