Advanced Autonomous Systems Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the development and integration of Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) systems for our innovative cleaning solution.
This role focuses on the mobile base platform that will operate in challenging airport environments, requiring expertise in both hardware integration and software systems for navigation, control, and multi-vendor coordination.
About the RoleWe are looking for a seasoned robotics expert to oversee the development and deployment of AMR systems.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing autonomous navigation systems, including LiDAR, cameras, and IMU sensors.
In addition to technical expertise, the ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with vendors.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop differential drive or omni-directional drive systems that meet customized requirements
- Specify and integrate navigation sensors, including LiDAR, cameras, and IMU systems with navigation stack
- Create comprehensive power distribution systems and electrical drawings for the mobile base and cleaning tools
- Oversee the transition from prototype development to small volume production, working closely with contract manufacturers to establish production lines
- Customize navigation software to support cleaning tasks adaptation and ease of use for ground operators
- Develop control software to coordinate cleaning payloads
- Conduct extensive testing in simulated and real environments to ensure 99% uptime in demanding cleaning applications
- Transition systems from prototype to production-ready designs with appropriate manufacturing documentation
- Provide technical support during manufacturing ramp-up and quality validation processes
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of five years of experience in robotics system development, including at least three years specifically in AMR or AGV development
- Demonstrated experience with deploying multiple robotic systems in commercial or industrial settings
- Experience in SLAM, path planning, and localization algorithms for autonomous navigation
- Proven experience in actuators, sensors, power systems, and mechanical integration for robotic platforms
- Proficiency in ROS/ROS2, C++, Python, and real-time control systems development
- Hands-on experience with robot installation, commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting
- Experience with OpenCV and industrial vision systems for robotic applications
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) principles
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and production line optimization
- Experience with service robots in commercial or industrial environments with proven reliability requirements
- Track record of successful integration across multiple technology vendors and suppliers
- Knowledge of ISO 13482 Service Robot Safety standards and relevant safety regulations
- Knowledge of supply chain management, component sourcing, and vendor qualification processes
