**System Infrastructure Specialist Job Overview**
We are seeking a highly skilled IT infrastructure expert to join our team. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading and managing server system hardware and networks, as well as in-house development environment software applications.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a system engineer or administrator with expertise in VMware and SAN technology. They will also possess knowledge of system security, OS hardening and data backup/recovery. Additionally, they should be familiar with various operating systems and platforms, particularly MS Windows and Red Hat.
Main Responsibilities:
- Installing and configuring software and hardware
- Managing network devices and technology tools
- Maintaining systems according to requirements
- Troubleshooting issues and outages
- Ensuring security through access controls, backups and firewalls
- Upgrading systems with new releases and models
- Generating and maintaining technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a system engineer or administrator
- Experience and knowledge in VMware and SAN technology
- Knowledge of system security, OS hardening and data backup/recovery
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (MS Windows and Red Hat preferred)
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
