Job Title: Regional Language Manager, SEA

We are seeking an experienced Regional Language Manager to drive and manage the language strategy for Southeast Asian languages on Netflix Products, Content, and Games.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop linguistic and cultural standards and guidelines for localized user experiences, including style guides, glossaries, and tone and voice of Netflix products and content.
  • Monitor the linguistic quality output of Thai, Indonesian, and Malay languages using internal quality metrics and KPIs, and provide feedback to translation teams.
  • Communicate with Globalization cross-functional teams to anticipate and fix linguistic, product, and subtitling issues related to the region.
  • Engage with regional stakeholders to define and influence the best creative and linguistic approach for top priority content.
  • Facilitate collaboration between internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure the necessary resources have access to relevant information.
  • Collaborate with other Globalization Language Managers and internal stakeholders to collect cultural and linguistic information about Netflix South East Asian International Originals.
  • Partner with the International Dubbing team to influence the language strategy of local language dubbed assets.
  • Gain deep production knowledge and awareness of product and content data for the region, and define quality expectations through research and A/B testing.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in managing language quality and localization programs at a strategic level.
  • Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience in translation, localization, and language quality management.
  • Ability to show initiative, work independently, and drive initiatives at a strategic level.
  • Fluency in English and native knowledge of Thai languages. Fluency in any other regional language is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the movie/entertainment industry in the region.
  • Experience in creative writing and media/journalism is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of localization specificities and pitfalls.
  • Eagerness to embrace a culture of candid feedback.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingsness to travel often in the region and internationally.
