Marine Electronics Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Marine Electronics Specialist to support the implementation of marine electronics and communications equipment/services onboard shipping vessels.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Commissioning Manager and work closely with the Energy Team in carrying out various tasks related to the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of marine electronics and communications equipment.

  • Support system or project engineers with implementation, assembly, design, and testing of complex electronic systems.
  • Carry out installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting for navigation, IT, Scada, communication systems, and equipment in workshops and onsite environments.
  • Assist in Factory Acceptance Test & Site Acceptance Test with clients, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with industry standards.
  • Contribute improvements and offer advice on operational procedures, enhancing overall efficiency and productivity.
  • Work with the team to investigate problems, diagnose, and repair faults in equipment to ensure it operates according to specifications, meeting safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports, documentation, timesheets, service reports as per company/client format for submission and reporting, facilitating effective decision-making and quality control.
  • Collaborate with the Service Department to resolve client inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Perform other associated tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time, contributing to the success of the organization.

Requirements

  • Able to work under tight schedules and minimum supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and discipline.
  • Available to travel at short notice, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Physically capable and willing to work overtime, including weekends and public holidays, showcasing flexibility and resilience.
  • Good verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety protocols and regulations.
  • Experience in telecommunication systems in marine, shipyard, offshore preferred, but not essential, as we provide comprehensive training and development opportunities.
