Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second Engineer to join our team at PSA Marine (Pte) Ltd. As a key member of our marine operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in the development of maintenance and operations plans for our vessels, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Operational Control: Oversee the implementation of maintenance and operations plans, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of engineers and officers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of tasks and projects.
  • Safety and Quality: Implement and maintain safety policies and practices onboard vessels, ensuring compliance with QHSSE policies and procedures.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for engineer cadets and ratings, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Delegation and Reporting: Deputise for the Chief Engineer as required, and provide regular performance appraisals and reports to the Chief Engineer.
Requirements
  • Certification: Possess a Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer Class II).
  • Experience: Have at least 3 years of experience as a Second Engineer Officer onboard a container vessel.
Desirable Skills
  • Health and Safety: Possess a strong understanding of health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Leadership and Management: Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Communication: Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
