Job Title:Senior Cost Management Specialist

About the Role:

Our organization is seeking a seasoned Cost Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and efficient cost management of projects.

Key responsibilities include preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and quantity take-offs for construction works; managing contract administration; monitoring project costs; evaluating progress claims; conducting value engineering and cost analysis; liaising with project managers, consultants, and contractors; and preparing reports on financial and contractual status.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of cost estimation, project budgeting, and contract administration; excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills; and proficiency in relevant software tools.

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who can work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

Required qualifications include a diploma or degree in a relevant field such as quantity surveying, engineering, or construction management; a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role; and a solid understanding of construction industry practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and quantity take-offs for construction works.
  • Manage contract administration, including tender preparation, evaluation, award, and post-contract management.
  • Monitor project costs and implement effective cost-control measures.
  • Evaluate and certify progress claims, variations, and final accounts.
  • Conduct value engineering and cost analysis to optimize project efficiency.
  • Liaise with project managers, consultants, and contractors to resolve contractual and commercial matters.
  • Prepare reports and provide timely updates on financial and contractual status of projects.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry practices.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software tools.
