The role of Pharmacy Benefit Management System Specialist involves a detail-oriented and analytical professional to manage and optimize the pharmacy benefit management system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Code Management: Review, validate, and update drug codes in the master drug database to ensure timely updates to the tariff for accurate claims processing.
  • Clinical Review: Evaluate medical necessity, drug interactions, and contraindications to ensure patient safety.
  • Audit and Compliance: Monitor submissions to prevent tariff abuse and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Trend Analysis: Analyze drug consumption patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and formulary optimization.
  • Tariff Updates: Conduct periodic reviews of tariff structures and recommend updates for competitive pricing.
  • FHIR Standard Support: Assist in integrating the PBM system with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Provide actionable insights through data analysis and utilize analytics tools for system performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, healthcare administration, health informatics, or related field.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of pharmacy benefit management systems and healthcare coding systems.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
