Algorithm Engineer Job Description

The Music Recommendation Team focuses on developing and improving recommendation algorithms to enhance the music experience on TikTok.

We strive to create a personalized music ecosystem that assists listeners in discovering, enjoying, and utilizing music for video creation through tailored recommendations.

Our team aims to influence and guide music trends by refining promotional strategies and amplifying TikTok's influence within the music industry.

To achieve this, we leverage machine learning techniques and business objectives to build end-to-end recommendation systems that enable users to better discover and consume music on TikTok.

Our goals include building industry-leading recommendation systems for providing accurate music recommendations and delivering high-quality music experiences during the user's creation process.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop advanced algorithms for music promotion and trend guidance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to grow TikTok's music business.
  • Run experiments to test model performance and identify bugs.
  • Break down complex problems and solve them independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications

Strong candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related fields.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in machine learning, recommendation systems, or related areas.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++).
  • Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or MXNet frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
