Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to support the Chief Underwriting Office in driving the technical underwriting agenda and priorities by providing independent underwriting oversight and ensuring consistent application of underwriting excellence, product governance, underwriting reviews and regulatory compliance.

  • Peer review large, complex and/or non-standard risks across various product lines.
  • Drive operational efficiency and maintain technical excellence in the underwriting referral process.
  • Act as a technical expert to identify risks and opportunities across product lines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong understanding of the main underwriting aspects across product lines.
  • Experience in market underwriting.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • A strategic mindset with a future-focused approach.
  • The ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in multiple discipline underwriting and managing/collaborating with multiple territories' underwriting teams.
  • Proficient in drafting contracts.
  • Experience in designing and delivering underwriting technical training.

You should possess a tertiary degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Additionally, insurance certification such as CII or related professional certification is desirable.
