Nurse Manager Job Description

As a Nurse Manager, you will lead a team to provide high-quality care to residents and their families. You will oversee the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective care, ensuring compliance with all nursing standards.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of registered nurses, enrolled nurses, nursing aides, healthcare assistants, and other multi-disciplinary care providers.
  • Ensure quality audits are planned and conducted periodically to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
  • Promote evidence-based practices for nursing care delivery.
  • Develop written policies and procedures to guide nursing care delivery.

Care Delivery Objectives:
  • Ensure smooth transitions of residents from acute to chronic care and back to the community.
  • Direct care of residents to ensure compliance with standards.

Staff Resource Management:
  • Ensure an appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services.

Staff Development Opportunities:
  • Direct and facilitate staff development, skills, and competency upgrading through various opportunities.
  • Guide orientation/induction programs and preceptorship for all new staff.
  • Support the Director of Nursing in nursing home management and deputize in their absence.

Requirements:
  • Advanced Diploma/Degree in Nursing.
  • At least 4 years of clinical or management experience as a Nurse Manager.
  • Nursing Home experience is preferred.
  • Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified.
