System Support Specialist

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities. As a System Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral device problems.
  • Respond to help desk requests from end-users and provide timely and effective solutions.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade desktop hardware components such as hard drives, memory, and graphics cards.
  • Set up and configure network printers and other peripherals.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, patches, and antivirus scans.
  • Monitor system performance and identify issues to ensure optimal performance and security.

Requirements:

  • Nitec / Diploma in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and productivity software (Microsoft Office suite, etc.).
  • Familiarity with hardware components (desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals) and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and protocols.
