Job Title: Medical Specimen Collector

The role of a medical specimen collector is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of clinical laboratories. We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated professionals to join our team as phlebotomists.

As a medical specimen collector, your primary responsibility will be to collect blood specimens from patients using various techniques such as venipuncture, finger prick, or heel prick methods. You will also be responsible for verifying patient identification against official documents and ensuring compliance with test requirements.

To perform these tasks efficiently, you will need to strictly observe pre-blood collection, blood collection, and post-blood collection procedures. This includes sorting, labeling, and entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) before transferring patient samples to the laboratory.

Effective inventory management is crucial in this role. You will be responsible for monitoring and managing the stock of medical supplies used by the phlebotomy team. Additionally, you may be required to perform other ad hoc job tasks or projects assigned by your superior.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate in Phlebotomy
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant hands-on phlebotomy experience
  • Ability to work 5.5 days, including weekends
  • Experience in a project setting or pediatrics is an added advantage
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
