Cloud Sustainability Specialist

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Alibaba Group are joining forces to drive innovation in green digital technologies through the Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL).

Our mission at ANGEL aligns with Singapore's national objectives, focusing on the development of sustainable and equitable digital solutions that promote a green lifestyle and reduce carbon footprints.

As a dedicated Cloud Sustainability Specialist, you will be part of a team that leads cutting-edge research in Green Cloud Computing, aiming to enhance the design, operation, and optimization of data centers through innovative approaches.

Responsibilities and Expectations:
  1. Develop and implement digital twins and optimization algorithms for integrated source-grid-load-storage systems using programming tools like Python, C/C++.
  2. Conduct research on integrated energy system optimizations, including computing-electric and computing-cooling coordinated optimizations.
  3. Supervise junior graduate students and provide guidance on their research projects.
  4. Prepare technical reports, including papers, patents, and technical disclosures, showcasing your expertise and findings.
  5. Collaborate closely with team members and engineers to develop new features and ensure the responsiveness of applications.
  6. Diagnose and resolve issues efficiently and effectively, ensuring seamless operations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Hold a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Information System, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Possess industrial work experience in relevant areas, demonstrating your ability to translate theoretical insights into practical solutions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Python and relevant packages, such as NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, or Tensorflow.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills, good problem-solving skills, and a strong attention to detail.
