ANGEL is looking for a ResearchScientist or Senior Research Scientist to support research workunder the project "Urban Sustainability" which aims to develop asuite of techniques for efficiently and effectively building newdigital infrastructure of city scenes, managing all city data in ahigh definition and 3D/4D referencing system, and performingsimulation, interaction, and analysis on the digital twin citymodel. The RF will work on the simulation aspect of the project,focusing on i) data-driven model creation and auto-calibration ofagent-based simulations; ii) dynamic creation of simulationinstances for providing modelling and simulation as service on theCloud; and iii) speeding-up and scaling-up agent-based simulations.

JobDescription:
  • To supportresearch work under the project "Urban Sustainability" which aimsto develop a suite of techniques for efficiently and effectivelybuilding new digital infrastructure of city scenes, managing allcity data in a high definition and 3D/4D referencing system, andperforming simulation, interaction, and analysis on the digitaltwin city model.
  • Work on the simulation aspectof the project, focusing on i) data-driven model creation andauto-calibration of agent-based simulations; ii) dynamic creationof simulation instances for providing modelling and simulation asservice on the Cloud; and iii) speeding-up and scaling-upagent-based simulations.
  • To conducthigh-quality research on algorithm design, analysis, andperformance evaluation and publish research outcomes in top tierconferences andjournals.
JobRequirements:
  • PhD degree incomputer science or related field
  • At least fiveyears of relevant post-doctoral experience for Senior Scientistapplicants
  • Strong scientific publicationrecord
  • Experience in discrete-event modellingand simulation and data-drivenapplications
  • Excellent programming skills andexperience in large system development
  • Abilityto work independently and with a largeteam
  • Excellent analytical, technical, andproblem solving skills
  • Strong verbal andwritten communicationskills
